Missing children in Canada – MSN

Although May 25 is significant day in the campaign to highlight cases of missing children around the world, every day they are missing is critical.

May 25, National Missing Children’s day began in the U.S. on that day as it coincided with the day in 1979 that six-year-old Etan Patz disappeared on his way to school in New York. It was first observed in the U.S. in 1983, following a proclamation by president Ronald Reagan. Countries around the world also make note of the day, International Missing Children’s Day, in various ways. On Twitter there’s a campaign set up @missingchildren

In 1986 Canada’s Solicitor General declared May 25 National Missing Children’s Day in Canada. Here are a number of Canadian cases of missing children, as documented among the cases of missing persons on the federal government website Canada’s Missing. There are many more cases across the country.
